Eyebrow Favourites

Friday, January 22, 2016

Nothing makes me feel more fabulous than having my brows looking flawless. Anyone else feel this way? If I leave the house I always have to make sure I have my eyebrows on, they make me feel more complete and frame my face. I don't tend to do anything crazy with my brows on an everyday basis but if going for full glam makeup then I like to step up my brow game too.

Instagram Makeup Roundup

Tuesday, January 19, 2016

Hello lovelies! Today I thought I'd share some of my Instagram pictures with you all as IG has quickly become my favourite social media platform. I find so much inspiration from makeup artists there and its really got me into doing some makeup looks of my own. I thought I'd show some of the looks I've done in the hope that maybe it'll inspire some of you too!

Claris Blue Orchid Facial Treatment Oil

Saturday, January 16, 2016

I've been struggling with dry patches on my face for a little while now and I purchased this in the hope it might settle things down. I have mixed feelings about it and I'm not 100% convinced this is the right product for me.

Urban Decay 'Score' Afterglow 8-Hour Blush

Wednesday, January 13, 2016

I've found myself using a lot of Urban Decay products recently, without even realising it. They're just such a great brand with really great products! I feel like they've also released a lot of great products recently too, which is a terrible thing for my bank account, but a blessing for my face. I'm also a total blush junkie so there was no doubt I was taking one of these home with my on my last visit to my local Urban Decay counter..

L'Oreal Mattifying Infallible Foundation

Sunday, January 10, 2016

Now the new year has come around and I have a whole week off work, I finally have the time to catch up on my long overdue blog posts! I plan to do pretty much everything in bulk this week.. I think I might have set myself a bit of a challenge. I need to complete gut out my bedroom, cook a million meals to put in the freezer, write blog posts and film YouTube videos to keep me up to date for the next month or so. Wether i'll get all this done or not i have no idea, but I'm willing to try!

Ive been wanting to talk about this foundation for such a long time as I truly love it. It has absolutely become my favourite affordable base and has overtaken my love for the good old L'Oreal True Match. I swear its the easiest foundation to apply ever, it blends into the skin so fast (I always use a beauty blender to apply this) and never looks cakey or heavy. You can apply one layer of this and it gives a really nice medium coverage, matte finish. If you're feeling like stepping it up a notch, applying a second layer isn't going to make you look like you're wearing a mask. The shade 10 Porcelain is also pretty bang on for me and my pasty skin, so if you're pale then you might want to give this a little swatch. I love the matte finish of this, it takes a minute or two to set on the skin and after that it looks beautifully flawless. It doesn't cling to any dry patches or emphasise my pores and for someone with quite an oily t-zone, it lasts a surprising amount of time for a hughstreet foundation. I couldn't ask for any more in a foundation! I also really like the squeezy tube packaging too, it just makes it quick and easy to use.

Whats your favourite affordable foundation?

Hello, 2016

Saturday, January 09, 2016

Hello everyone, I hope you have all had a great Christmas and new year. Things have been super quiet here on the blog over the festive period but I'm a believer that this time of the year should be spent with friends and family. I have a few things I want to achieve in 2016, I'm going to share them with you all in a nice little re-introduction to the blog for this year. To be honest, I'm glad to see the back of 2015, it wasn't a great year for me or my family at all. It just felt like one thing after another was going wrong so I'm ready for a fresh start with 2016.

1. I want to focus on my career. This year I plan to progress through the company I work for, I've been there for a little over a year and I feel ready for some new challenges and experiences. As well as thing I want to focus on my portfolio, I love my job but I do have a diploma in graphic design that I feel I should put to good use. I guess I really just need to find a balance between the two.

2. I want to get more creative with makeup. I feel like I've fallen into a little bit of a trap, I wear the same make up day in day out and I just feel like I don't get time to really experiment and express my creativity. In line with this I want to spend more time filming tutorials for YouTube because it's something I really truly enjoy!

3. My blog need a refresh and a schedule. I'm all out of sorts with working like crazy over the Christmas period that I've just neglected the things I really love doing. I don't want my blog to become something I do when I get a spare minute, I need to get organised and set a proper routine for myself.

4. Health and diet. This has been a big focus of mine since just after my birthday last year but I think it's time to step it up a notch and get into things properly. I need to cook more food in bulk so when I get home late from work I don't just end up cooking myself some chips and feasting on unhealthy snacks. I know this is probably everyone's goal at the beginning of the year and I've been telling myself I'll get healthy for years now. 2016 is my year and I am ready for the changes.

So pretty much I just need to organise my life in general.. We'll see how it goes! What are your goals for this year? Are you inspired to try something new this year?
