Lush 'Snow Fairy' Shower Gel!

Friday, January 31, 2014

Why oh why are all the best smelling products limited edition?! I guess with this one we know it comes around every year but its still not the point! Lush's Snow Fairy is a well know and loved scent by those who love a good sweet, fruity smell. Personally for in the shower this is exactly the kind of scent I'm after!

The Snow Fairy scent itself smells like a mixture of pear drops and candy floss! Its bright pink and has pretty glitter running through it which makes it super fun and girly. Its a lovely shower gel too that makes your bathroom smell great as well as your skin, it lathers beautifully and makes plenty of bubbles meaning you can feel extra clean and fresh. Its a lovely shower gel and I know its a cult product that many buy around the festive season!

Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel - Available here (more likely to grab it in store)

The Body Shop 'Cranberry Joy' Body Polish!

Wednesday, January 29, 2014

Oh my goodness, if you can still get this. You need it. If you love sweet, fruity scents then this should be the next thing in your life. As with most of the Body Shop products this smells absolutely amazing!

The Cranberry Joy scent is one of the Body Shops Christmas scents and you can find many products in the range. Personally though, this is the best of the bunch, I think it smells the best and the product is a favourite of mine too. Besides the smell its a really good scrub, it has a mixture of large and small beads suspended in a gel like consistency which makes it a dream to use. I'm so sad I didn't stock up on this but I honestly didn't think it was going to be so amazing! It makes your whole bathroom smell delightful as well as leaving your skin smooth and exfoliated. I don't find that its too harsh or that it dries my skin out at all and I love that the scent lingers on the skin for a while too!

I can't seem to find this on the Body Shop website but some of the Cranberry Joy products are still available. I know that a lot of stores still have some stock of this kicking around too. If you want it, you'd better be quick!

My Current Skincare Routine! | YouTube

Tuesday, January 28, 2014

I'm back with another video for you all! I decided to make one about my skincare routine. I've talked a bit about my skin in the past here on my blog but I thought it would be nice to chat about it as theres a lot of ground to cover! I'm thinking about making a video about my favourite skincare extras, such as masks and other bits and pieces. Let me know if you think that would be a good video idea! I'd also love to hear your feedback on this video, I'm still getting to grips with filming on my new camera but I think I'm kind of getting the hang of it now. Talking to the camera is becoming much more natural which is something I never thought I'd say! Anyways, enough of my rambling, enjoy the video.

Just a little heads up too, theres not long left to enter my giveaway and I'd love if as many as you of possible took the chance to enter! It closes on the last day of this month so you'd better be quick!

Topshop 'The Damned' Makeup Collection!

Monday, January 27, 2014

First off I want to apologise for the lack of posts this month, its been so hectic with being back at college, uni applications, dealings and getting ready for my driving test! But I'm writing today about something I've been wanting to write about for quite some time, I picked this up in the Cult Beauty sale just after christmas time and sadly its not available anymore but you might be able to source out some of the products in Topshop stores. A little of the collection is available here on the Topshop website.

The collection is gorgeous, slightly vampy and a little different to a lot of the makeup that I already own. Here I have an Eye Gleam, Velvet Lips, Cheek Duo, Finishing Powder and a Nail Polish.

The Eye Gleam in the shade Noir is absolutely amazing, its a dark charcoal grey with a silver shimmer running through it. You can use this as an eyeshadow base for a nice, dark smokey eye or you can use this as an eyeliner which is what I've been doing. It's a lot softer than a black liner but it still gives nice definition. The product itself is super creamy and it doesn't smudge or crease all over the place. It feels really light and a little goes a long way. I find it lasts really well on my eyes.

Next is the Velvet lips in Velveteen Ribbon which is a lovely deep, blood red shade. Its the perfect colour for some night out glam and it'll certainly draw attention! It goes on quite wet and glides across the lips really easily and after a minute it dries and looks like velvet! Its pretty matte and I find it lasts a really long time, however, it can be a little drying but its not something to worry about.

The Cheek and Eye Duo is a lovely product, I haven't personally used it on the eyes as the shades don't seem that appealing as eyeshadows to me but I do love to use this on the cheeks. On one side theres a lovely deep red colour which gives that lovely natural flush to the cheeks, like you've just come in from the cold outside. The other half is a pretty pink toned highlighter which looks quite natural and gives a nice glow to the face. The colours also love lovely when mixed together and then applied to the cheeks.

Lastly is the finishing powder in the shade White Lies, its probably my least favourite of the bunch. Its very highly perfumed and I think for people with sensitive skin this is an immediate no no. Its so strong that when I apply it I always sneeze or my eyes water. Its nice powder though, it has quite a lot of subtle shimmer that gives the face a nice radiant look to it but I find it really hard to get any product on my brush. Its like its been over pressed and I've really got to force the brush in there to pick anything up. If it was easier to use and wasn't so scented I'd probably be in love with it as it does leave a nice finish on the skin and its quite good at setting makeup in place.

The Nail Polish in Bittersweet is also amazing, I forgot to photograph it when it was on my nails but its a stunning blood red colour. It applies a little sheer so I find I need about three coats to get it looking good but it lasts well on the nails the same as any other Topshop nail polish and I love it! A great colour for this time of year.

Soap & Glory Endless Glove Moisture Mask and Hand Cream!

Monday, January 20, 2014

Soap & Glory always give their products such adorable names and this one is no exception, Endless Glove is not only a hand cream but also a moisture mask! I've fallen in love with it!

What I really like about this product is that you can apply a light layer over your hands which keeps them moisturised throughout the day or you can apply a thick layer at night and let it soak in which really nourishes the hands and almost repairs them! It has a gorgeous scent which lingers on your hand alongside the moisture. If you suffer from dry hands you definitely want to give this a go! I love the Soap & Glory Hand Food hand cream too but this is good for an extra little boost of moisture. This hand cream has the added bonus of including macadamia and grape-seed oils as well as Shea butter and other great ingredients for your skin! Its definitely worth giving a whirl.

Philosophy The Cookie Exchange Gift Set!

Monday, January 13, 2014

Throughout this month you can expect to see gift set reviews! Not only because I received some as gifts at Christmas time but because I'm also quite partial to a good sale! I found this little set for £11 in Boots but I can't seem to find it online! I did however manage to locate it on the Debenhams website so if you're after it, you better buy quick!

I've wanted to try Philosophy products for a really long time but the steep price tag that comes with some of them made me stop and wonder if it was really worth it. After trying this little set that I nabbed in the sales, I'll definitely be purchasing more from the brand! The Cookie Exchange gift set comes with three cute little products and despite it being a Christmas gift set I would definitely say all the scents are fabulous for all year round!

The Christmas Cookie shower gel is ah-maz-ing! If you like sweet and fun scents then you'll love this! It smells just like freshly baked cookies and its so sugary sweet its made me want to try tasting it on numerous occasions (I haven't tried it yet..). As well as the gorgeous smell its also a really nice shower gel, it laters up well and fills the whole bathroom with its sweet scent!

Oh my, Mr Sweet Creamy Frosting, you've got a place in my heart! This is like the perfect companion for the shower gel, again, its very sugary sweet and it smells literally just like cake frosting! I find it really moisturising too, it sinks into my skin nice a quickly meaning I can get my clothes on without a bother! The scent lingers on the skin for a long time too, if I use this a night I can still smell it the next morning! I also wake up feeling super soft and nourished!

Lastly is the Sugar Sprinkles lipgloss, which again smells so good! It also very sweet and smells to me like a mixture of sugar and freshly baked cakes! Its a really nice lipgloss and its not super sticky on the lips which is something I really can't stand! It doesn't have much of a colour but its really nice for layering over lipsticks or for adding a nice shine to the lips. A little heads up too, this tastes like it smells and its so good!

Overall I'm really impressed with this gift set! I'll definitely be trying out more philosophy products. I think this was a massive steal at £11 because the little tin is adorable too.

Soap & Glory Original Pink Eau De Parfum!

Friday, January 10, 2014

So this little cutie popped up under my christmas tree thanks to my parents and boy is this stuff good! If you love Soap & Glory and love to smell goof then this is definitely one for you to try out!

Okay, I'm really bad at describing scents but I'm going to give it my best attempt..
If you have a few Soap & Glory products and you know their scent, then you'll know what I mean by that smell in the Soap & Glory isle in Boots?! It smells like that, the original glorious scent from this brand! Its sweet, fresh but lovely and girly all at the same time.

So now that my terrible description is out the way.. Heres whats on the Boots website:
"Just mist on. (And when it fades, mist again.) A gorgeous modern floral chypre style fragrance. Made with Soap & Glory's™ signature Rose & Bergamot scent blended into a fabulous fine fragrance in a gorgeous silver bottle with ribbon tie."

If that doesn't sound appealing then I don't know what does! I find this a great day to day scent as it isn't too heavy and it lingers really well without being overpowering when its first applied. Its so lovely and if you love Soap & Glory then you'll love this!

2014 Beauty Resolutions!

Wednesday, January 08, 2014

So I'm back after my festive break from blogging and I thought I'd share with y'all my new years resolutions for 2014! I know this is just a quick post but I did take some pictures to get back into things and I only got one good picture thanks to the horrible lighting these days! I can't win with my photos recently, its either too dark or the sun is waaaaaaaay to strong! Anyways..

My first resolution is to get into a body care routine. I love body moisturisers and I'm forever buying them but I don't think I've ever finished one, simply because of the fact that I'm lazy and when I have a shower I want to get dressed as soon as possible.

Number two is to take my makeup off every night, I'm pretty good at this but every once in a while I don't do it and my skin definitely suffers. I wake up in the morning and always regret not taking the 5 minutes at night to clean my face. I know I sleep better for it when I do as well!

This year I also want to get fit, I don't want to lose heaps of weight or anything but I want to start exercising so that when I walk up a flight of stairs I don't feel like I've just run a marathon.. In turn with that I want to take better notice of my diet, making sure I'm eating properly and cutting out snacking! I know I need to drink more water too, it has so many benefits for your skin and hair as well as your body so I'm going to make a really big effort to get into it.

I want to make a point of pampering myself more often too. I want to make sure I do a face mask at least twice a week so that I can keep my skin feeling fresh and fabulous! To keep my hair in check I'm going to make sure I get regular cuts as I'm bad for only getting a hair cut once or twice a year..
On the pampering side of things I also want to take more baths, this will give me more opportunities or face masks too and it'll relax me in general!

Do you guys have any new years resolutions? Let me know in the comments below!
