The Body Shop 'Melt My Heart' Colour Crush Eyeshadow!

Friday, September 27, 2013

When I go to the Body Shop its usually to pick up a new body butter or some shower gel and I've never really thought all that much when it comes to their makeup range but it seems lately they've been upgrading some bits and pieces and when I saw this eyeshadow I couldn't restrain myself!

First off just check out the amazing colour! The shade Melt My heart is a gorgeous golden, bronze type colour with just the right amount of sheen and shimmer! I think I'm definitely going to pick up more of these shadows as they are super soft and buttery and blend so well. I'm obsessed with this and it looks absolutely amazing swept all over the lid along side a slick of mascara. I can't say too much about the packaging as it feels a little basic but for the quality of the shadow I'm not complaining. I think these are around £7 and I highly recommend that you give them a swatch the next time you pass!

REN Invisible Pores Detox Mask!

Tuesday, September 24, 2013

Clogged pores? Blackheads? Let me introduce you!

I've wanted to try some skincare products from REN for quite some time now and I thought what better place to start than with a face mask? My skin is pretty clear - touch wood - I don't usually get a lot of spots or breakouts anymore but I do struggle a little with my pores, I feel they're a little on the big side and they tend to clog up a lot.

This mask is really nice, I apply two pumps of it all over my face and it starts off a nice light grey colour and dries with a slightly blue tinge. It takes about 20 minutes to dry and then I wash it off with some warm water and a muslin cloth, it leaves my skin with clear pores and it feels super soft! What I like best about it is that I don't feel like it strips my skin too much. Sometimes with pore cleansing masks I find that they're too harsh and they leave my skin dry and irritated but this one seems pretty gentle. It also doesn't dry too hard, some clay masks I've used dry so hard it actually hurts because I can't move my face! Thankfully this is a lot better and its my new favourite for clearing out my skin and getting back a nice clean, clear face.

Caudalie Lip Conditioner!

Saturday, September 21, 2013

All of a sudden it seems that the cooler months are creeping up on us, and as much as I love Autumn my lips most certainly do not. Its this time of year where most of us catch colds and end up a little bit under the weather and if you're anything like me your lips will dry out beyond repair as a result of cold weather and a sad immune system.

I bought this kind of randomly along with a recent Space NK order because I was about £5 off free delivery so I could either pay for the delivery or pay the same and get this little cutie! Of course I grabbed the opportunity and I have been pleasantly surprised. Before purchasing this I hadn't really heard that much about it, I knew many people enjoyed Caudalie as a brand but I hadn't heard about this product in particular and to be fair I can't say I've looked up any reviews on it yet.

I really like this though, it has quite a thick waxy texture without much scent and it seems to coat the lips thoroughly. I find its a good one for when my lips get really bad, for when a basic lip balm just doesn't cut it and I need to step up my game! I love it for applying under lipstick too because it doesn't have a super greasy texture. Its very nourishing and is great to apply throughout the day as well as over night too!

I'm personally in love! Let me know in the comments below if you've tried this out!

American Wish-list! - Sephora

Wednesday, September 18, 2013

Sorry for not updating my blog lately, I've had a lot going on but hopefully I'll be able to get back on track within the next week. I'm doing a wish-list post today! My favourite type of post haha!
Soon my gran is jetting off on holiday and will be visiting the USA (I'm so jealous) so I thought I'd take advantage and perhaps send her off with a list and some money so I can grab some goodies that aren't available in the UK.

1. Buxom Full on Lip Cream 'Creamsicle' - I've heard a lot about these mainly from my favourite blogger/YouTuber essiebutton and I really want to try them out for myself!

2. Josie Maran Coconut Watercolour Blush 'Poppy Paradise' - I think the hype around these blushes has literally exploded lately and being the keen beauty lover I am, I can't not get my hands on one of these right?

3. Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush 'Tipsy' - I'm sure many of you bloggers out there can understand this one! With Tarte not being available in the UK and their blushes being so highly rated I think they're at the top of any makeup lovers wishlist, especially the infamous shade 'tipsy' which is a bright coral!

4. Kat Von D 'Ladybird' Palette - I've been keen to try out this makeup line for some time now but again the barriers of the UK have been restricting me, I've researched a few of the products and this palette stands out to me and now I'm just dying to have it!

5. Makeup Forever Aqua Cream '14 Satin Brown' - Seeing Pixiwoo use MUFE in their tutorials so frequently makes me almost desperate to try out some of their products, I'm playing it safe with a brown cream eyeshadow as I've heard they're pretty much indestructible!

So thats my top 5 for my USA wishlish! I hope you found this interesting and please let me know in the comments below if you think theres anything else form the USA that I really need to get my hands on. Sorry for the lack of post lately but I promise I'm getting right back on it!

Defeating Dark Circles!

Saturday, September 14, 2013

If you're anything like me and has been greatly blessed with the fortune of dark circles under your eyes then this post might be for you!

I'm very pale and having dark circles under the eyes really doesn't help my satiation, I do my best to create a lightened effect under the eyes and a warm look to my face. When it comes to hiding dark circles I don't like to look like I have a ton of concealer under my eyes because to me it just looks worse and extremely unnatural.

I like to start off by using my Bobbi Brown Corrector under my eyes as it has a nice peachy undertone which is great for counter acting the blue tone on those tedious dark circles! I apply this using my Zoeva 227v and buff it in. After this I apply my MAC Prolong wear concealer over the top in a V-shape  under my eyes. I find doing this really brightens the area and helps diminish the tired look. To finish it off I use my Bobbi Brown Eye Blender brush and set my under eyes with a translucent powder. I find this combination of products works really well as you don't need too much of the MAC concealer to get the coverage required. I've struggled with my dark circles for quite some time now as everything I used seemed to crease or cake up. At long last however, I have found my perfect solution!

I hope this has been helpful to some of you, whether you're a fan of staying up late and regretting it the next day or if you just suffer from dark circles like me!

Eyeko Skinny Liquid Liner!

Thursday, September 12, 2013

First off, apologies for this post being a little on the late side. With being back to college and still trying to keep up with my job I've found myself with little time to do the things I love! Most of all I love writing my blog for all you wonderful readers :)

Today I'm talking about my new favourite liquid liner, this is actually a mini size that came free in a magazine lately. I honestly can't remember what magazine as I read so many! I'd heard so much about Eyeko's mascara's and eyeliners, especially because of Pixiwoo as I see them using them a lot in their tutorials.

If you're anything like me and find that wearing eyeliner is only something achievable when you've got more than enough time on hand then I suggest giving this a whirl. I love liquid liner but I always find it takes me so long to perfect my flicks! The fine tip on this felt pen like liner makes eyeliner a breeze. Not only that but building up a thicker line is also super easy! I'm personally a big fan haha! Another great thing about this liner is that you don't have to shake it every couple of seconds to keep getting a nice black line, every stroke is just as black and just as precise as the one before. It has pretty good lasting power too! I've yet to see this smudge, it lasts all day and looks just as fabulous as when first applied! I definitely recommend checking this out if you're an eyeliner fan, especially if you find it takes you a little while to apply it!

Urban Decay 'Diamond Dog' Eyeshadow!

Sunday, September 08, 2013

I'm a fan of brown eyeshadow in general, neutral smokey eyes with browns are my usual go to kind of looks! However, every girl loves a bit of glitter right?
This, my friends, is Urban Decay 'Diamond Dog' Eyeshadow - link.

This is such a gorgeous colour, a deep brown with plenty of silver glitter and sparkle throughout. What more could a girl want? As usual Urban Decay have provided exceptional pigmentation from this shadow and the glitter doesn't disappear when applied to the lid. Its the perfect eyeshadow for turning a day look into a night one. However I have no shame in admitting I've worn this during the day haha! Its super soft and just so pretty I can't get over it! I think its from their Moondust collection, but don't quote me on that! I think it might be limited edition so if you want it you'd better act fast!

Ben Nye Neutral Set Colourless Face Powder!

Thursday, September 05, 2013

Oh eBay, why do you temp me so? Haha! This is something I recently discovered existed, I've always wondered about the famous Banana Powder from Ben Nye but from most reviews I've heard its not a good choice for us pale girls. This however, has no colour meaning its the perfect thing for transparent skin! Let me explain!

The packaging is maybe a little inconvenient, no nice big lid to tap the product into and for brush swirling. Aside from this, this powder is perfect. Its the type of powder I think clowns and performers and such would use to keep their makeup in place without effecting their look too much. It sets the makeup beautifully, you could literally pack this stuff on and you wont look cakey - trust me, I've tried it. For someone who's pale, transparent setting powder is something from a dream! So this completely colourless powder is just wonderful. It manages to set your makeup without altering its finish to drastically. Ever applied a nice dewy foundation and then set it with powder and regretted it immediately? yeah.. Of course this powder mattifies the skin, any powder will, theres just something about it that lets the foundation shine through. It also helps with controlling oily skin too! I really can't say enough good things about this powder! I actually love it so much! Its my go to powder, not only does it help keep me matte throughout the day, it doesn't cake up and it doesn't hide my foundation.

Its pretty hard to find online in the UK, however I got mine from eBay with no problems at all. The seller I used shipped super quick and I had my powder within 2 days of my payment. - link.

Monday, September 02, 2013

This month I have quite a selection from skincare to hair but I've loved all these products this month that I had to mention them all! I can't believe its coming into Autumn season, my personal favourite as I'm a massive lover of plum type lipsticks and smokey eyes!

Here are my top 5 for the month! (I try pick around 5 products so I don't blab on forever more haha!) In no particular order..

1. Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream - link. This is a light coverage base that just makes my skin look flawless. Its hydrating yet my oily skin loves it, I don't think I've used any other base this month!

2. Ren Invisible Pores Detox Mask - link. Being the face mask lover that I am this bad boy from Ren of course made my favourites. It leaves my skin fresh, clean and soft after using it and I love it!

3. Urban Fudge Iced Coconut Hairspray - link. Yes! Coconut smelling hairspray! Not only that but it seriously holds your hair in place!

4. Real Techniques Blush Brush - link. I love RT's brushes, in fact I can't get enough of them! I bought this with my Boots points recently and have been using it for everything! Powder, blusher, bronzer, highlighter, you name it! I've been reaching for it so much - very versatile!

5. Hourglass 'Dim Light' Ambient Lighting Powder - link. An expensive one yet its so pretty too! A setting powder that leaves the skin radiant and dull. Where has this been all my life?
