Collection 'Cotton Candy' Cream Puff!

This is a product that I recently picked up from ASDA of all places haha! I'm so glad I did though as I am absolutely in love with it! This is the Collection 'Cotton Candy' Cream Puff - link.

First off, this colour is absolutely amazing! It's like a darkish, nudy-pink kind of colour (okay, probably worst description ever but I think it would suit a lot of skin tones) that instantly brightens up the face. It dries matte but it isn't too drying on the lips but because of its velvety texture you can definitely get away with applying a lip balm over the top of this without ruining how it looks. I like to do this sometimes to make sure my lips stay nice and moisturised. It's very creamy in texture and it super easy to apply with the little doe-foot applicator and I find it lasts really well without too much touching up throughout the day. I'm surprised I like this as usually I can't stand matte textures on the lips - this one is a great exception and its really lovely.

I definitely want to pick up more of these as I really like the texture and pigmentation! I would've included a picture of my wearing this but I was having a particularly bad face day haha! Let me know what you think of this in the comments if you've tried it.

Bourjois BB Bronzing Cream!

If you've seen any pictures of me here on my blog you're probably well aware of the fact that I'm about as pale as a carton of milk and when it comes to summer I'm always in the need of something to make me look a little less pale and scary. I'm not a fan of fake tanning my face as I feel it clogs my pores and it never really lasts all that long when I'm cleansing my face at night. This product has been coming in especially handy though!
Boujois BB Bronzing Cream - link.

Okay, so when you pump it out of the tube it looks absolutely terrifying. I must admit when I put some of this on my hand in store I thought 'oops' but once its blended in it actually looks very natural! Which surprised me a great deal!

It claims to be an 8 in 1 kind of products thats meant to: even skin tone; be a sheer tint; boost radiance; give 16 hour moisturising; smooth skin; prolong tan; provide SPF 15; have a refreshing sensation and smell like chocolate. And breath.

Personally I find that it definitely does even out the skin tone, in terms of a BB cream it doesn't provide that much coverage but then again it is supposed to be a sheer tint. I definitely love the fact that this isn't hugely over powering as I was worried it would make me look orange-faced. It generally just adds a nice glow to the skin and you can build it up if you want to change you skin tone even more. It has quite a radiant finish and even though it's supposed to be a moisturising product its not a problem on my oily skin and I wouldn't say this lasts any less or any more than any other foundations/BB creams that I've tried. It definitely makes my skin appear more smooth without looking completely caked in makeup. It definitely doesn't smell like chocolate in my opinion but the scent isn't bad at all! I like the fact that there is only one shade for this product, I'm extremely fair and usually one-suits-all products tend to be far too dark, this is just fine though - probably because you can build it up to suit your requirements.

Sometimes I like to mix this in with whatever foundation I'm using on that day to give me an extra bit of colour. However, its different to using a foundation thats a couple of shades darker as it seems to blend in seamlessly and give the impression of and overall glow rather than a false colour.

I'm really pleased with this and if you're interested in boosting your glow for the summer months then this is a product that I highly recommend!

MUA 'English Rose' Mosaic Blush!

Recently I've discovering more and more MUA products and every time I'm in Superdrug I have to restrain myself from buying everything they've produced! I love MUA so much because their products are super affordable and they're also pretty good quality. A new favourite happens to be the
MUA 'English Rose' Mosaic Blush - link.

Personally I haven't been using this product as a blush, I've been using it as a highlighter. As you can see from the swatch above it doesn't have a whole lot of colour but it does have a lovely iridescent shimmer. The shimmer isn't glittery at all and I find that because it's slightly pink toned it looks very natural.

For me the fact that this doesn't have massive amounts of pigmentation isn't a worry as when I swatched it in the shop I knew exactly how I would use it. It's also super pretty to look at in the packaging due to the pretty mosaic pattern. I find that some products that have shimmer in them can be a little bit chunky - especially the ones that area little cheaper, but this product feels super smooth to touch, it also glides onto to cheeks like butter! I also find that this reminds me a little bit of Benefit High Beam but in a powder form.

I definitely recommend that you give this a swatch next time you pass as I think its absolutely gorgeous! And for how cheap it is you really can't go wrong!

Collection (2000) Lasting Perfection Concealer!

If you're familiar with the blogging world you've probably seen this a million times! Which makes me wonder why I've never written a post on it before haha!
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer - link.
The 2000 is in brackets in the title as I'm pretty sure they ditched that and just call themselves Collection now - I think.

I love this concealer so much! I honestly don't know what I'd do without it. Its super high coverage and if you've got any pesky blemishes going on then this is what you need! I have this in the lightest shade but it comes in four different colours which I think is quite good for a high street concealer. I really like using this under my eyes too - I pair it with my Bobbi Brown Corrector for maximum brightness under my eyes! I got some nasty dark circles going on! I don't find that it creases under the eyes at all - in fact I would say the Bobbi Brown Corrector (typed Boobi Brown there by mistake haha..) does more creasing that this and this is like a quarter of the price! I find that this concealer can be a little tiny bit drying but its not a problem on my oily skin at all, I would actually say its quite a good thing!

For all this costs I really don't think you can go wrong, it covers pretty much anything and it lasts super well! Let me know what you think.

Clarins Water Purify One-Step Cleanser

Ladies and gentlemen - I've finally ditched face wipes all together for taking my makeup off and switched over to using a proper cleanser! I know.. be proud!
Clarins Water Purify One-Step Cleanser - link.

I actually received this product as part of a gift-with-purchase bundle and I am more than pleased to say I've been making the most of it. Usually for taking my makeup off at the end of the day I would remove my eye makeup with an eye makeup remover, run a face wipe all over my skin and then use my Soap & Glory Hot Cloth Cleanser, but for the late nights sometimes sleepiness takes over and the cleansing step would be skipped from my routine. Don't judge now! I'm sure we've all been a little lazy with our skin care routines every now and then. As this is a water based cleanser I find myself reaching for it more and more, on the late nights where quite frankly I can't be bothered using my hot cloth cleanser I'll whip out a cotton pad, put a little of this on and sweep it all over my skin.

I find it very refreshing, probably because its good all that good skin stuff in it like mint and whatever else... My cotton pad usually turns a nice shade of orange too - proving to me that face wipes really don't clean your skin properly. I've also found myself reaching for this in the mornings instead of face wipes too, although I do still like the feeling of running a wipe over my face in the morning I feel like this is more beneficial for my skin.

This particular cleanser is for us oily skinned girls but they do have a formula for normal/dry skin too which I think is most excellent! With my skin being quite sensitive I'm always worried that products like this will break my out or dry my skin out too much but so far this cleanser seems to be working in perfect harmony with my skin. It has a nice light refreshing smell with hints of mint - its fresh but not too over powering which is great as highly perfumed products are usually the ones that cause the most bad reactions!

Overall I'm super happy with this cleanser and I'm so pleased that I've finally almost managed to completely ditch the wipes for something much better for my skin!

MAC 'Pearl' Cream Colour Base!

Being the highlighter addict that I am, heres another product thats caught my attention!
MAC 'Pearl' Cream Colour Base - link.

Cream Colour Bases are sold as a multi-purpose kind of product. You can use them on your eyes, cheeks and some even on your lips too. But I find this product works best for me on my cheeks as a highlight.

Hoping to use this product for all its multi-purpose uses I applied this to my eyelids before applying any eyeshadow, hoping it would work as a great base. It went on really smooth and the eyeshadows stuck to it nicely and looked a little more vibrant than usual but sadly, even with a primer, this creased on me. Having said that I do have what I'm pretty sure are the worlds oiliest eyelids so I wasn't to disheartened. For others with less oily lids this would probably work wonders.

I've found myself using this a lot on the tops of my cheekbones as a highlight as its a super pretty pearly-champagne colour with the right amount of sheen and not too much shimmer. I swirl my ring finger in the little pot and then pat it on to the tops of my cheekbones and it looks absolutely amazing, a must have in my opinion for creating the perfect dewy-skin look. I find this lasts all day with no touch-up requirements and it isn't too heavy to wear during the day as well as the option of being able to build it up for a more evening look.

I'm seriously addicted to it and highly recommend you give it a swatch next time you're passing your local MAC!

Superdrug Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser!

Ohh a little extra post! You can't say I'm not good to you! Haha, in all honesty I just got a little too excited about this product and couldn't wait to share it with you!
I present to you the Superdrug Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser - link.
(which is on 3 for 2 in Superdrug right now along with the rest of their Vitamin E range!)

I first heard about this cleanser from Kate or gh0stparties who has a wonderful blog and she's so great with skin care! She makes me want to buy everything haha! Since I heard her mention it I've seen it on numerous blogs lately, in fact I think its exploded a little in the blogging world to be honest!

Its one of those cleansers that you massage into your skin and rise off with warm water using the provided muslin cloth, I really like these kinds of cleansers for taking my makeup off at the end of the day as they leave my skin feeling super clean and refreshed - this one is no exception!

I've never tried anything from Superdrugs Vitamin E range before but after using this I think I might try a few other bits and pieces! This cleanser has a really nice smell, it kind of reminds me a little bit of Shea butter and macadamia nut.. I don't know for sure what the scent is but it really is lovely, but don't worry its not too overpowering! If you're familiar with my blog you might know that I like to have a winge about my oily skin and how it's such a pain. This cleanser says its best for normal to dry skin which may have you wondering a little as to why I picked it up. To me this product hasn't been a problem, with only using it at night time I feel it doesn't cause any problems in me dealing with my oily skin during the day. I find I can get away with using more moisturising products at night time that what I can in the morning.

The reason I like this cleanser so much is because it gets the job done! Its super easy to use, it takes off absolutely all my makeup and it smells delightful! It's also rich in natural vitamin E, high in antioxidants and it claims to defend skin against environmental damage which I don't know a whole lot about but I think if you're in the market for a new cleanser you should definitely give this one a shot as its only around £5 and as I mentioned before its on 3 for 2 in Superdrug as we speak!

Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray!

A lot of people have given this product great reviews and since I genuinely like my hair to look a bit of a mess most days I thought this would be a great thing to try to help it look a little more put together.
Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray - link.

Beachy style, messy waves is something I come across time and time again on websites such as pinterest, it seems everyone wants to look like they just walked from the beach. Which is fair enough, who doesn't want to look like they've been sunning it up in some exotic country!?

Personally, I think I've become addicted to this spray.. Usually I'm not all that bothered when it comes to hair products as on a day-to-day basis I tend to just wash my hair and then let it do its own thing. However, with my hair having a natural curl I find that sometimes it can go a little frizzy on warmer days (rare here in Scotland but still!). I spray a little of this in my hair when it's wet and then again when it's dry and it basically makes my hair look a lot more piecey and textured and it really helps control the frizz. Most of the time I avoid hair products as I feel they make my hair feel unnatural of weighed down - which I really don't need as my hair is super thick! The Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray makes my hair feel a little tiny bit more crispy than usual but nothing hugely noticeable and it makes it look much more styled. Being as lazy as I am when it comes to hair it's a total life saver! It does a really good job at separating out the curls in my hair and making them look even more messy but still put together. Despite this hair product having quite a steep price tag I think its completely worth it.

YSL Rouge Volupté Shine Lipstick - 6 'Pink in Devotion'

Do you ever just see something in a shop and think 'wow, I really need that', because thats how I felt when I saw these gorgeous YSL lipsticks. I know they're pricey but really, they are completely worth it.

I am totally obsessed with this colour, I genuinely think it's going to become my signature colour all through the summer! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the YSL Rouge Volupté Shine Lipstick colour 6 'Pink in Devotion' - link. It's the perfect bright, fuchsia colour that I've been needing my whole life.

To introduce you to this true beauty I want to start with the packaging because really, have you ever seen anything to beautiful in your life?! The gold tube is so sleek with the YSL themed circle pattern thingy round the middle which background matches that of the colour of the lipstick?! It's amazing.

I also really love the formula of these lipsticks, they're sheeny but also super pigmented and even thought they have a great shine they don't leave your lips feeling super slidey or greasy. They glide on to the lips like a dream and I don't find that they need too much touching up throughout the day.

The main reason for me purchasing this was the fabulous colour - its bright but not to bright and I think it complements my skin tone well unlike some other fuchsia pinks I've tried. I'm so obsessed with this lipstick simply because it feels so luxurious and the colour is so perfect! Let me know what you think in the comments below!

Stila 'Poppy' Convertible Colour!

Don't be scared! I know this blush looks super terrifying but trust me, its my new favourite for this spring and probably will be all through the summer too! This is the Stila Convertible Colour in 'Poppy' - link.

The Stila Convertible Colours can be used on both the lips and the cheeks, but for me personally - probably because I'm weird - I tend to only ever use these multi-purpose products for one thing. In this case I only use this as a blush. I don't know why but I just have this thing about using a product on different parts of the face - I don' even know? Anyway 'Poppy' is a super bright bright pinky-red which looks absolutely terrifying, but when sheered out on the cheeks it gives a natural glowy colour which I absolutely love. I also love the fact that you can totally build this up to be more opaque if you really want.

I have pretty oily skin but my cheeks are fairly dry and I find this product lasts a really long time on me. I don't ever feel like I need to touch it up during the day or for the evening time. I find it applies best with the Real Techniques Stippling Brush - link, and I dab it gently into the blush, then dab it on the back of my hand to take of excess and then gentle stipple it onto my cheeks - creating the perfect rosey glow.

I know that these Convertible Colours have absolutely exploded in popularity and they're showing up all over blogs a YouTube with people raving all about them. I am completely in love with this one and can't wait to try more. They're so easy to use and pretty fool-proof. Maybe one day I'll be adventurous and apply this to my lips, but for now I'm more than happy with using this as a cream blush.

May Beauty Favourites!

As stereotypical as it sounds.. Where has this year gone?! Time definitely flies and with it being my new years resolution to work harder at my blog I'd like to introduce some of my new adjustments in making my blog more interesting. I've now got a new backdrop for taking pictures of products (constructed out of some wood and fabric) which hopefully will introduce more consistency to my photos. I've also decided to stop being lazy and use my actual camera to take pictures rather than being lazy and using my trusty iPhone - thus hopefully resulting in better quality photos haha! I am also going to be publishing a new post every third day now to make sure theres always new content for you! Anyways I hope you guys like these subtle changes and you'll be seeing a lot more of this pretty heart fabric in the future! On with the favourites..

All these products are things which I have not yet mentioned on my blog before - tryna' keep things interesting here! - but don't worry the full reviews are to follow soon. These things are all new purchases from the past couple of months and I'm practically obsessed with them! May has been a pretty good month for discovering new things and I think it's a good time of year for this since the seasons-are-a-changing!

1. Garnier Caffeine Eye Roll-On - link, has been a must have for me this month. I purchased it without really thinking about it and I'm seriously addicted. It's great for using in the morning to get rid of those sleepy looking eye bags and to give the eye area a boost. It makes my face feel nice and awake during those nasty early starts.

2. Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray - link, has been a handy little helper in assisting me in achieving the messy, curly look I like to create on a day-to-day basis. It makes my hair look like I've been swimming in some exotic sea water abroad when really I've just been moping about in rainy Scotland.

3. Clarins Beauty Flash Balm - link. This cutie really helps add radiance to the face when applied under makeup and I've been finding its a must-have when I'm going to a spring, fresh glowy look. I love the texture and it works well with my oily skin.

4. YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Lipstick no. 6 'Pink in Devotion' - link. Oh. My. Goodness. This lipstick has thee most amazing packaging I've ever seen! Not to mention the fact that this is an amazing pink colour which really brightens the face and instantly makes you look more summery!

5. Models Own Fruit Pastel Nail Polish 'Apple Pie' - link, this is the perfect minty-green colour for spring and I absolutely adore it, even though I don't really smell the scent when it's on my nails I really don't mind as its such a lovely colour and I've worn it non-stop since I got it!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post! Let me know below what your favourites are this month!
